More Skills Australia offers two different kinds of Elevating Work Platform training courses. We understand that some of our clients may be experiencing various difficulties obtaining a licence. To accommodate these difficulties we have developed courses specifically outlined along the different requirements of our clients.



Basic Elevating Work Platform (11.0m plus) Course   Unit of competency OHSCER235A

This national accredited Elevating Work Platform course covers the legally required formal training for the Elevating Work Platform. It entails the basic knowledge and operating principles relating) to use
the Elevating Work Platform. This includes topics such as how to assess, /secure equipment and the
work area, all operational aspects and maintenance of the Elevating Work Platform.

The Elevating Work Platform licence covers all types of Elevating Work Platforms (above and below 11m) such as boom lifts, scissor lifts and knuckle booms

This course is suitable for persons of all levels. People with no or only little experience may need additional training time to improve their skills and therefore their confidence operating the machinery before they return to the workplace and obtain the required workplace experience.

The formal training is of 1 day duration. You will need to add an additional day for the practical assessment after completing the required workplace experience.

Course outline:
Basic Knowledge of the Elevating Work Platform 
How to assess and secure equipment and the work area (routine checks, plan work etc)
How to operate the elevating work platform (driving, elevation, protective equipment etc.)
Maintenance of the Elevating Work Platform (refuelling, modification etc.)
This course provides both comprehensive practical and theory training.

It is a legal requirement that licence applicants complete the formal training prior to gaining workplace experience. However, experience (i.e. old logbooks, company letters) obtained prior to attending the formal training may possibly be recognized in your training plan after being validated by us.

Elevating Work Platform Workshop Course (11m plus)          
                                                                                        
Unit of competency OHSCER235A

The Elevating Platform Workshop course is of 3 day duration. Supervised by our experienced trainees the course participants are given the opportunity to undertake the formal training (1st day) as well as gaining some workplace experience during (2nd day) this course.

The course entails 1 day formal training plus 1 1/2 day supervised workshop training and 1/2 day assessment.

At the end of the 2nd day the course participants will be evaluated to ensure they are ready for assessment, usually conducted on the 3rd day of the course.

We would like to give all participants of this course the opportunity to obtain the “Yellow Card” at
a special price of $60.00 (listed price $130.00).
