New High Risk Work licence assessment and application process
11 December 2012
On 1st November 2013, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland have introduced a new application process for High Risk Work licences.
What students and companies need to know about the new application process for High Risk Work (HRW) licences
From 1 January 2013, ALL Workplace Health and Safety Queensland accredited assessors are required to report forthcoming assessments, including:
- Applicant’s legal names (first and last as shown in their driver’s licence or passport)
- Date of birth
Assessors are required to provide this information to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland no later than six (6) business days before the proposed assessment date.
In most cases, students like to be assessed for their HRW licence, immediately following completion of their training. Under the new requirements, the date and time that you make your booking will have a significant impact on when we will be able to assess you.
The More Skills Australia team will advise you when the assessment can be undertaken at the time you make the booking. If necessary, our team may need to suggest alternative dates.
To avoid potentially missing out on the assessment immediately following the completion of your training, More Skills Australia proposes introducing a cut off time for High Risk Work licence bookings.
Booking cut off time – 4pm/ seven (7) days before assessment date.
What this means
Bookings for High Risk Work licence training must be made by 4pm, SEVEN (7) business days before the desired assessment date.
You must provide the following details when making the booking:
- Students legal names (first and last) as shown in the student’s driver’s licence or passport
- Students date of birth.
Applicants cannot be assessed for their HRW licence unless the assessment has been reported to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland as required.
To make it easy for you, we have outlined a table at the bottom of this page, showing when you must make the booking if the student is to be assessed after completing the training.
